How a lesson works

Short steps you do, not just read.

  1. Step 1: Read a short story

    A real situation, told in a few sentences.

    Scenario: the summer jobs bot

    A town runs a summer jobs program for teens. This year, far more students applied than there are jobs. To save time, the program leader wants to use an AI tool that ranks the applications.

  2. Step 2: Make a choice

    Decide what you would do. Every answer explains why, and none of them scold.

    What would you do?

    You're on the program's teen advisory board, and the leader asks what you think. What would you do?

    ASay yes. A computer will be fairer than people, because it doesn't have feelings.

    BAsk what data it learned from, and test it on applications from many different schools before using it.

  3. Step 3: Check what you learned
