The footprint trail

This game is unplugged. Each player gets five paper footprints. On each one, a grown-up writes a small made-up fact. For example: “likes soccer” or “has a dog named Max.” Or: “walks past the big library.”

Lay the footprints in a trail. Then a “detective” picks up the trail.

Can the detective guess things about the made-up kid? Where they live? What their password might be?

Think about it

One footprint told the detective very little. What did all five tell them together?

Small facts add up. That is why you share the least you can.

Level up (grades 3-5)Optional

A US law called COPPA protects kids under 13. Many apps must ask a parent before collecting a child’s information. The rules got stronger in 2025.
