No easy answer

A school is thinking about AI cameras in the lunch line. The cameras would recognize each student and charge their account, so nobody waits to swipe a card. This school is made up.

Here is one side. Lines move faster, and nobody forgets a card.

Here is the other side. The cameras watch every student, every day, and someone has to store those faces.

Both sides have a point. Many AI choices work this way. You gain something and give something up. That is a trade-off (show definition): getting more of one thing by giving up some of another.
